The Joy Formidable

"I am always daydreaming in the bathtub between recordings. That diffuse thinking where your mind wanders freely - I always finish songs when I'm in that state."    Ritzy Bryan

This week's menu features the Welsh rock band The Joy Formidable. TJF is one of the few bands over the past decade or so that have propelled us to take a personal swandive deep into our own heads.  The Welsh alt-rock trio dropped a rumbling new track called “Into The Blue,” their first new music in nearly three years.“’Into The Blue’ is about surrendering to love and magic,” says lead singer and guitarist Ritzy Bryan. “Having the courage to enjoy a new journey and the mystery and excitement of something unexpected. It’s about opening your eyes to beauty and love again. Making it to the other side. Whilst not conceived as a metaphor for the times we all live in now, it certainly turned out that way.” We talk with Ritzy on this week's Blue Plate Special along with a buffet of new music from Mothe`, JPOLND, Paris Youth Foundation, Van Go Go, Flock of Dimes, The Dollyrots, 8th Day, Louie Louie, Arkells ft. K_Flay, Mother Mother, '68. Wild Horse!

Hosted by Aaron Zytle.

Plus Maximum Alternative Magazine's Mike Parrish has our Take Out feature song!

Next week we get to know Los Alamitos, California's 8th Day!
