The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an American annual four-day music festival developed and produced by Superfly Presents and AC Entertainment. Since its first year in 2002, it has been held at what is now Great Stage Park on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee and annually boasts a diverse lineup of over 100 artists each year.  The festival has a huge emphasis on radiating positivity amongst one another, recycling and sustainability making Bonnaroo one of the most popular festivals in the country.  The efforts have resulted in many acknowledgements including Rolling Stones "50 Moments That Changed Rock & Roll" in 2003 and an award from A Greener Festival for Bonnaroo's green efforts to name a few.

The start of a cool morning did not deter people from experiencing The Ninth Annual Duck River Day Festival this past Saturday.   People of all ages came out to Henry Horton State Park in large numbers to enjoy the many festivities offered at this year's festival which included a variety of food vendors, arts and crafts, face painting, a car show, bull riding, live music, and much more.  WFMC Jams was on location and streamed the live music performances throughout the day for those who were not able to attend.  Music enthusiasts both online and in person were able to enjoy live performances from Glenn Bazzel, Scott Southworth, The Howlin Embers, Stones River Bluegrass Band, and Johnny Collier and the Misbehaviators.

For those that may have missed out on this free event will be happy to hear about the upcoming events and exciting new enhancements to the park this year.  The details were announced by Shaun Rainone at the music stage in a brief interview with Dallas Collier.  A brand new building houses the new conference space called the Duck River Room as well as an exhibit space with all sorts of information about the Duck River.  Additionally a brand new restaurant is opening up as well as the swimming pool within the coming weeks.  More details on upcoming events and information about the park can be found on their website at tnstateparks.com

Making its debut two years ago, the Railbird Festival returned to the Grounds of Keeneland this past weekend as a sold out event to bring patrons a full two day experience of music, bourbon, and Kentucky culture.  Registered as a National Historic Landmark in 1986, Keeneland Grounds holds deep roots and history to horse racing which is how the founder, AC Entertainment, came up with the name and location for the Railbird Festival.  Combining the historic and cultural interests of the Lexington area is what makes the Railbird Festival unique event.

On the bill this year for music is a variety of music that will be enjoyed by all.  Having My Morning Jacket as one of the headliners at Railbird is iconic as the band was founded in Louisville, KY.  Announcing this morning their release of their new self titled album in October, My Morning Jacket has been actively creating new music and touring over 20 years.  Singer/Songwriter Leon Bridges released a new album earlier this year titled "Gold-Diggers Sound"  and is currently in the middle of a U.S. tour which includes Railbird Fest.  Grammy winner David Matthews of the Dave Matthews Band is a rock and roll American Classic brings to Railbird a performance to remember.  Alabama native Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will also be part of this year's headliner lineup.  The band has released seven albums to date and become a very well respected Americana/Rock Folk artist throughout the country.
